How to Acquire a CGertley Original

Art can make the spirit tangible and the unseen possible. For me personally, painting is a way to tap into my subconscious and express feelings and intuitions that I can’t explain in words.

When I create from the soul, I am being honest and present, allowing my true nature to shine through my work. It is my hope that you can sense the emotion behind the work and connect with it on a deeper level.

I put a piece of my heart and soul into every painting. Therefore, if you choose to acquire an original piece of my art, you are in essence acquiring a very personal part of me. Each piece has been ceremoniously smudged with Sage, Sweetgrass and Palo Santo every time before any work begins on it. All smudging materials have been ethically sourced and harvested.

Sage, Sweetgrass and Palo Santo are all sacred plants used in smudging ceremonies, but they have different purposes:

Sage is a shrub that's primarily used to remove negative energy from a space, person, or object.

Sweetgrass is a type of grass that's often braided and burned to promote positive energy, happiness, and harmony.

Palo Santo is from South America and is known as "holy wood" in Spanish. Palo Santo is used to promote positivity, enhance a space's energy, and create a sense of well-being.

I have a very fulfilling day job. I do not produce my art for profit, it is done to fulfill a creative need from deep within. This is why there is no price index listed for individual pieces. It is far more important for me to see them go to a place of deep appreciation for the art than to make a large profit from them.

If an individual piece of my art speaks to you, please let me know how it does. Tell me what thoughts or feelings it brings up within you. Tell me why you think you would be a good caretaker of something so personal to me. Truthfully, I would keep all of them as they are a distinct snapshot of a specific time or influence in my life, but I have run out of room in my home. So, I am now willing to part with some pieces to the right collectors to continue to make new art.

For these pieces to be passed from me to another person with good karma, there must be some kind of mutually beneficial exchange between me as an artist and you as the collector. I cannot give these pieces of myself away for free, but I also cannot in good conscience ask for more than what someone can afford. If a painting resonates with you and is truly important for you to have, we will work out compensation based on what you feel is a fair renumeration and within your budget.
